The livery stable of the old J.G. Evans Stage Stop is a lovely old barn in Black Forest, Colorado, and is one of the last of it's architectural style in eastern Colorado. This is the second time I've painted this barn, once as a children's book illustration, and once as a framed painting. I really enjoy painting the same subject at different times during the year. There's so much more to see and experience about the subject when seen with different lighting and the changing colors of the seasons.

A really lucky shot. I stuck my camera out my Jeep window and snapped the shot on the fly while my son and I were driving between to snow plows after a blizzard. My son kept yelling, "Just shoot the thing! We're going to be plowed under!"
